A human rights complaint filed by eight Muslim women against the United Parcel Service (
UPS) over the company's dress code could be resolved this morning, according to lawyers on both sides.
The hearing, which was expected to continue through Wednesday, is all about skirt length. The women, all devout Muslims lost their jobs in 2005 because they refused to hike their skirts above the knee over their long pants. They say, Islam requires them to be fully covered for modesty and allege discrimination on the basis of religion and gender.
